Salt Edge Limited is a UK-registered company (No. 11178811, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ) that provides the technical infrastructure for connecting your bank account to the BudgetBakers AIS service.
Role of Salt Edge
When you connect a bank account through BudgetBakers, Salt Edge acts as a technical intermediary — establishing a secure connection to your bank's API. Salt Edge processes your bank data on behalf of BudgetBakers to enable the Account Information Service.
What Data Salt Edge Processes
- Authentication data — Redirects and tokens used during the bank login process (Salt Edge does not store your banking credentials)
- Account information — Account numbers, types, currencies, and holder details
- Transaction data — Payment history, balances, transaction descriptions, and amounts
- Technical data — IP addresses, device information, and connection logs for security purposes
How Data Is Used
Salt Edge processes your financial data exclusively for the purpose of providing the AIS technical service. Your data is not used for marketing, profiling, or sold to third parties.
Security & Compliance
Salt Edge is authorized and regulated as an Account Information Service Provider. They maintain strict security measures including encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security audits, and compliance with PSD2 and GDPR requirements. Data is stored in secure data centers within the European Economic Area.
Data Retention
Salt Edge retains your data only for as long as the bank connection is active and as required by applicable regulations. When you disconnect your bank account, your data is deleted in accordance with their retention policy.
Your Rights
You can exercise your GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) regarding data processed by Salt Edge by contacting BudgetBakers support or Salt Edge directly. You can disconnect your bank account at any time to stop further data processing.
