Salt Edge Terms of Service — Summary

Effective date: April 1, 2026

Third-Party Document Summary

This is a summary of the Terms of Service of Salt Edge Limited, one of our technical service providers for the Account Information Service (AIS). The full legally binding document can be downloaded below.

Salt Edge Limited (71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom) provides the technical API infrastructure that enables BudgetBakers to connect securely with your bank for the AIS service.

Service Description

Salt Edge provides a technical interface (API) that connects to your bank's open banking systems. Through this interface, BudgetBakers can retrieve your account information and transaction history in a read-only mode. Salt Edge does not provide financial advice or make any financial decisions on your behalf.

Your Obligations

By using the AIS service powered by Salt Edge, you agree to:

  • Use the service only for lawful purposes
  • Provide accurate information during the bank connection process
  • Not attempt to circumvent security measures or reverse-engineer the service
  • Connect only accounts that you legally own or have full disposal rights over

Consent & Authorization

The bank connection requires your explicit consent, provided directly at your bank's authentication environment. Salt Edge accesses your data only within the scope of permissions you grant. You may revoke access at any time.

Service Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". Salt Edge does not guarantee uninterrupted access, as availability depends on your bank's API systems. Scheduled maintenance or bank-side outages may temporarily affect the service.

Limitation of Liability

Salt Edge's liability is limited as defined in the full terms. They are not responsible for errors, delays, or data inaccuracies originating from your bank's systems. Salt Edge does not provide financial, investment, or tax advice.

Governing Law

Salt Edge's terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
